This is an advanced startup manager from sysinternals. It displays what services are running, startup programs when you boot or login to your O/S, checks registry settings and many more. This tool is much better than your standard MS CONFIG utility and is easy to use as well

A simple tool, that can make booting your machine up smoother. At start up windows attempts to load every program at the same time, therefore hogging CPU usage and making your system slower, which causes hanging. To stop this happening, space them out by using this tool. Besides this main function, it also displays the path of where the programs are starting up and an option of finding out more details about an application online

Features include importing and exporting of registry files, searching the internet, explore selection key in regedit and more. From researching this, I have found that lots of users recommend it.
Although it hasn't been updated in a while, it is still a popular choice
Encryption
Description:
A powerful, easy to use file encryption program, that also integrates with Windows Explorer. Once installed it automatically enables the right click option to encrypt, decrypt, view and edit folders and files with a password.
Theres enough features for the experienced and the not so experienced pc user.
I use it
Secure Erase
Allows you to completely remove sensitve information from your hard drive. It does this by overwriting it 7 times by using carefully selected patterns. During installing it also configures a handy right click shell extension for you. It's been tested using various recovery programs and they couldn't recover the information. It's been mentioned in various articles on the web and in magazines as well.
This is one powerful tool, use with extreme precaution.
With that said, try and find something better thats completely free
PC Check/Report

This gives you microsoft's reccomendations on the security of your windows system. It checks if your updates are out of date, misconfigurations and other various settings. It's easy to use and after it has run, it gives you good instructions on how to secure your computer better

It constantly monitors your system for insecure software installations, notifies you when an insecure application is installed, and even provides you with detailed instructions for updating the application when available. It generates a nice report at the end of it's scan and doesn't just show operating system patches, but also other applications such as your email client, office applications, internet browsers, media players and more 3rd party applications. One feature that stands out is the toolbox feature, which gives you other helpful information to deal with the installed program. A nice and easy to use tool that will benefit alot of users
